Dancing Monkey

Halloween 2011 was spent at Amanda's parents house and Mike had to work so couldn't be there. (which is also why we are stuck with iPhone pics)  We carved a Jack-o-Lantern, roasted seeds, made Pumpkin stew, went to a carnival and Noah did his first Trick-or-treating (3 houses).   He absolutely loved his costume and being a monkey.  He still finds the costume and gives it hugs and kisses.

These Days - Noah @ Fifteen Months

These days I wake up and see a little baby transforming into a little boy.
These days you are most playful and wonderfully fun spirited .
These days I wonder if you are just being silly for sillyness sake or trying to make us laugh.  Either way...we always do.
These days you are either running or dancing...not much in between.  No matter what music or any rhythmic sound...no matter where we are, you move your body to the tune even if all you can do is wiggle your little hands and feet.
These days we get the best spontaneous hugs and kisses that brighten our days and your almost constant giggly laughs warm our hearts.
These days we are constantly in awe of your genious-ness : )  ... as you are able to follow all sorts of commands and understand so much (go get your drink, go find your binky, where is your ball, lets get your shoes on, rest your head, sit on your potty).
These days car rides are becoming a bit easier as you are more entertained by things passing by the window...and the music of course : )

These days are flying by so quickly.
These days I never want to forget.

NOAH IS ONE.

Noah is ONE!!
On July 30th our little buddy turned one. It's amazing how fast a year can go by.  Reflecting on the past year as a new family just makes us so excited for all the adventures to come in life and are so thankful for all the amazing experiences we have had.  As new parents, we are especially thankful for all the love and support we have received so generously around the country from our family and friends.   For those of you who have either a) welcomed us in your home for a night or few b) loaned us baby supplies or passed along hand-me-downs c) picked us up from airport once or multiple times ;) or d) cheered us on & gave us advice or e) All of the Above (you know who you are.) THANK YOU a million times.  We feel lucky to have you in our lives.

Back to the birthday...
Noah's Aunt Amy got married early Aug, so we were so lucky to have so much family in town to have a big party and celebrate the Birthday Boy.  Family is the best and it shows that Noah is one loved little dude.  We had a special cake for Noah...I call it special because it was healthy, sugar free, all natural etc...but well honestly...it was pretty ugly. But he loved it and made a mess of it which really is the point right?

Happy Birthday Baby Boy...we love you so much.  Thank you for all your sweet smiles, slobbery kisses, contagious laughs and warm hugs. We consider ourselves blessed, Ma-ma, Da-da and Punz (Da).

Exploring Yellowstone

I think it's safe to say we visit Yellowstone National Park at least once a year. It is truly one of our favorite places to wander and get lost. This summer we adventured out on our mtn bikes along the Geyser Basin and Biscuit Basin. Towards the end of our ride we got dumped on by a storm which made for some wet diapers.

"There is nothing so American as our national parks...The fundamental idea behind the parks...is that the country belongs to the people, that it is in process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us." - President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

RAISE 'em WILD

This summer we decided to take a  trip to Glacier National Park, Montana to take Noah camping for the first time. This was Amanda and Noah's first time to Glacier, even tho the Going to the Sun Road was close we still had a really good time. Glacier's mountains are so rugged with beautiful waterfalls and spectacular lakes. I can see why the Blackfeet indians called this place, "The Backbone of the World."
We only spent four days in the park and felt like we could have stayed at lease a month.
"Give a month at least to this precious reserve. The time will not be taken from the sum of your life. Instead of shortening, it will indefinitely lengthen it and will make you truly immortal." -John Muir.

Here are some photos from our time spent there. Enjoy.

Going to the Sun Road was close so we decided to ride our bikes, which turned out to be much more enjoyable then seeing it from the car.
